Stars as Christian Symbols represent many different items of sacred significance. The meaning of the number of points on a star are highly significant and are detailed as follows:
Four pointed stars symbolise each point of the cross and also used as the "star of Bethlehem" or "natal star."
Five pointed stars symbolise the Nativity
Matt. 2:1 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him."
Six pointed stars symbolise Israel and is called the Star of David. It represents the six attributes of God - power, wisdom, majesty, love, mercy and justice.
Seven pointed stars symbolise the seven gifts of the Spirit described in Isaiah 11 and Revelation 5:12 - wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, fear of the Lord, and delight in the Lord.
Eight pointed stars symbolise the number of regeneration and of Baptism
Nine pointed stars symbolise the nine gifts of the Spirit listed in Galatians 5 - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control
Ten pointed stars symbolise Ten of the Twelve apostles - Judas is omitted due to his betrayal of Jesus and Peter is omitted because of his denial of Jesus
Twelve pointed stars symbolise all of the Twelve apostles - Peter (also known as Simon Peter), Andrew (Simon Peter's brother), James son of Zebedee, John (James' brother), Philip, Bartholomew, Thomas, Matthew, James son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus (Judas, son of James), Simon the Zealot, Judas Iscariot (who betrayed Jesus).
